Mow lawns to the agreed standard while protecting garden edges and nearby property.
Yirra Care Careers
Join Yirra Care as a gardening contractor and help NDIS participants maintain safer and more accessible outdoor areas.
We welcome applications from reliable gardeners with a vehicle, ABN, suitable tools and practical garden-maintenance experience.
About the opportunity
Yirra Care connects gardening contractors with NDIS participants who need support around their homes.
For example, a participant may need lawn mowing, edging, trimming or regular garden maintenance.
In addition, some services may include light yard clean-up or approved green-waste removal.
However, every assignment follows a clear service scope. Therefore, extra work should not begin until Yirra Care approves it.
Gardening services
Each property has different needs. Therefore, the exact task list may change between assignments.
Before work begins, Yirra Care will confirm the approved duties, service time and property notes.
Mow lawns to the agreed standard while protecting garden edges and nearby property.
Trim lawn edges, small shrubs and approved plants with suitable tools.
Complete agreed weeding, light pruning and general garden-care tasks.
Remove loose garden debris and complete approved outdoor tidy-up work.
Help keep approved paths and outdoor access areas clear of light debris.
Manage agreed green waste when removal forms part of the confirmed service.
Please note: Tree removal, major landscaping, high-risk work and licensed trade services are not included unless they are separately approved.
Application requirements
Gardeners must travel to participant homes with suitable tools. Therefore, a reliable vehicle is essential for most assignments.
In addition, contractor work normally requires an ABN, safe equipment and suitable insurance.
Insurance and contractor documents: Yirra Care may request proof of public liability insurance, vehicle cover or other documents before assigning work.
Working with participants
Gardening experience matters. However, participant safety, comfort and privacy matter just as much.
For this reason, Yirra Care expects every contractor to communicate clearly and respect the participant's home.
Respect the participant's choices, home, routine and outdoor areas.
Arrive at the agreed time. Also, report delays before the service begins.
Ask useful questions and provide a clear update after each service.
Use tools safely and keep equipment away from participants and visitors.
Follow the approved scope and maintain professional boundaries.
Attend confirmed services and communicate early if availability changes.
Perth service areas
Participant demand changes across Perth. Therefore, applicants should list the suburbs they can service reliably.
You do not need to cover the whole city. However, your travel area must be practical.
These suburbs are examples only. Assignments depend on participant demand, travel time and contractor availability.
Application process
Our screening process checks your experience, equipment, documents and availability.
In addition, we need to know which Perth suburbs you can service reliably.
First, send your name, phone, email, suburb and gardening experience.
Next, confirm your transport and list the areas you can service.
Then, tell us which tools, machines and safety equipment you own.
After that, provide your ABN, Police Check, work rights and insurance details where required.
